Introductory Fencing Lesson

If you've never experienced fencing before then this offer is perfect for you. We provide an exciting and safe environment to teach you the fundamentals of fencing, including history, safety rules, movements, distance, swordsmanship and fencing rules. Experience firsthand this fun, safe, exciting sport while increasing your agility, balance, confidence, reflexes and even your mind. The atmosphere is relaxed and the mood is casual. This group session is one hour long taught by the head coach of My Fencing Club, Katya Belkina. The full fencing gear is provided.

The Introductory Fencing Package gives you an idea of what fencing is about before you sign up for the beginner program. Recognizing that it may be difficult for an individual to attend the scheduled introductory group lesson, we offer a private lesson combined with a group class.The private lesson covers the main aspects of fencing and are ideal for people with no previous knowledge of the sport. The participants are introduced to fencing rules, traditions, footwork and blade-work. Acquired skills are practiced further during a group class. Both lessons are taught by the head coach of My Fencing Club, Katya Belkina. The full fencing gear is provided.

Cost: $75* (45min private lesson + 1hr group lesson)

Beginner Fencing

Children 11+ yrs old, Tuesdays 5pm-6pm
Children 6-10 yrs old, Tuesdays 6pm-7pm

Kids may enroll in this program at any time after taking the Introductory Fencing Package. These classes are ideal for boys and girls who are new to fencing. In an exciting and safe environment students will learn the fundamentals of fencing. Students will also learn rules of bouting through physical activities and mental exercises. Each class is taught using plenty of games to improve speed, strength, endurance and co-ordination, develop specific fencing skills and tactical thinking.

The full fencing gear is provided during the first month of training.

Cost: $90 per month

Intermediate Fencing

Monday 5pm-6:30pm

Beginner students advance to this level after successfully learning the fundamentals of fencing. Enrollment is by consent of the coach and the program is designed for fencers who would like to improve their skills and participate in the beginner tournaments.

This program provides determined fencers with more intense level of training with everything from conditioning and footwork to the individual lessons. Students must purchase electric fencing gear.

Cost: $110 per month

Advance Fencing

Monday 5pm-6:30pm
Wednesday 5:15pm-6:45pm

These classes are designed for foil fencers with a minimum of two years experience that want to sharpen their fencing skills. Students are introduced to various attack and defense techniques that apply to tactical setting. Students will also learn what makes a good referee, practicing their refereeing skills during fencing bouts. The program also includes plenty of free fencing, as well as "handicap" bouts that help you to take your fencing game to new levels.

Cost: $110/$130 per month (one/two lesson per week)

Competitive Fencing

Tuesday 5pm-6:30pm (conditioning training)
Wednesday 5:15pm-7:15pm
Thursdays 5:15pm-7:45pm

These classes are geared toward actively competing foil fencers who are part of the ON OYC program and training toward ON Summer Games (OSG) and the National ranking.

The program includes tactical and technical drills, plenty of free fencing, private lessons as well as competition, training and nutrition plan. Our competitive members are Nationally ranked fencers and compete regularly at the Provincial and National level.

Cost: $150 per month

Private Lessons

Unlike many sports, fencing cannot be learned from a book, video, or website. It takes face-to-face instruction and time to learn this centuries-old art. Private lessons are designed for those who wish to sharpen their fencing skills, enjoy working with the coach one-on-one, and want or need a flexible training schedule.

Private lessons are the ultimate training experience, tailored to personal needs, style and temperament to maximize progress. The lessons are offered to fencers of different age and levels.

Cost: $30/0.5hr or $20/0.5hr semi private

Fencing Birthday Party

Fantastic and original birthday party for your mini-musketeer or pirate princess? We offer fun and safe fencing birthday parties for children aged 6+. Each party is professionally delivered and includes lots of fun sword fighting games. Whether you choose to go all out with costumes and invite kids to dress up as knights or princesses or simply choose to focus on a more standard sword fencing birthday party experience, we are here to help tailor a party to suit your needs.
